Hello!
My name is Jake and I have worked within the optics industry since 2018. My biggest pet peeve is glasses that do not fit properly.
When I was young, I had the choice of 3 pairs of glasses; Pink, Blue or Green slim metal specs. My mother chose blue, but I wanted green. We compromised and chose green. They allowed me to see, but they were boring and did not fit well.
Once I had reached my teens, I was told I did not need glasses which was a result! Then I started working in an opticians and I found that I needed them again. Even though now days we are spoilt for choice, they never have different sizes or colours to make then unique.
Fast forward, I have completed my BSc in Dispensing (Now fully qualified Dispensing Optician as of September 2024) and am now studying to become an Optometrist. I love my profession and I want to make a difference.
Like shoes, I should be able to get my size. Why are spectacles not the same?
I love unique glasses that fit well and people complement me when I wear them. So, whether you want a different size or a bespoke frame, that is where Caprice Atelier comes in.
I want to offer a range of spectacles in different sizes whilst offering bespoke eyewear for those who want to go that extra mile and have a tailor-made frame.
At the moment, I am working from my bedroom in a town called Maldon. It is a beautiful place and has been the inspiration for most of my work. You may know Maldon for its salt, the mud race or the lovely promenade.
